ACNE:
Acne is a skin condition that can be painful, challenging, and affect one’s self confidence. Acne skin is characterised by red pimples due to inflamed or infected oil glands and can be present amongst all age groups. Acne skin requires patience and our experienced skin specialists will tailor a program to achieve clearer skin.

Our skin specialists recommend the following treatments to clear problematic and inflamed acne:

INFINI Micro-Needling Fractional RF:INFINI adopts the latest in thermal fractional technology with effective Radio Frequency energy delivered via micro-needles.  This therapy is the gold standard in thermal techniques for the treatment of  collagen induction and healthy skin renewal/remodelling, effectively addressing a number of common aesthetic skin concerns, such as problematic and inflamed acne. The thermal effects suppress over-active oil glands (sebaceous glands) that are found in many acne sufferers.

The Carbon Laser Peel:The Carbon Laser Peel aka the Hollywood Peel is the ideal, safe and sure way to maintain youthful, bright, firm looking skin all year round, and is a true award-winning facial rejuvenation treatment that addresses problematic and inflamed acne.
The gold standard treatment for acne sufferers and those with enlarged pores, congestion, uneven skin texture and uneven skin tone. For acne sufferers, the dryness can be likened to results obtained from strong medications however, without the undue side effects on the skin, body or mental health. It is suitable for all skin types and provides dramatic long term results. Treatments can be performed every week to fortnightly and as required thereafter.

Healite LED Phototherapy:
Phototherapy treatments should be apart of every acne clearance program, designed specifically to sterilise skin from acne bacteria.

ACNE SCARRING:
If you have or had moderate to severe acne, there can be a lot of damage to the surface and the underlying layers of the skin. This can leave you with flat, discoloured acne scars. Don't be discouraged by acne scarring. With a combination of treatments, our experienced skin specialists can address these scars and improve your overall skin texture and tone.

Our skin specialists recommend the following treatments to clear your acne scarring:

CO2 Laser Resurfacing:The fractional CO2 laser takes the CO2 laser beam and fractionates, or pixellates, that beam into thousands of tiny little shafts of light. These tiny shafts of light penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. The skin then repairs those tiny shafts by removing the old damaged skin and replacing it with new rejuvenated skin cells.
The technique aims to address various skin concerns with true rejuvenation and skin remodelling outcomes. This will include plumping, firming, creating more elasticity, evening out tone/texture, and reducing the appearance of acne scarring for a youthful smooth glow back into the skin.

INFINI Micro-Needling Fractional RF:
INFINI adopts the latest in thermal fractional technology with effective Radio Frequency energy delivered via micro-needles.  This therapy is the gold standard in thermal techniques for the treatment of  collagen induction and healthy skin renewal/remodelling, effectively addressing a number of common aesthetic skin concerns, such as acne scarring after experiencing problematic and inflamed acne. INFINI provides true deep dermal remodelling for enhanced collagen regeneration and skin quality texture and tone improvement.

WINTER IS 'LASER SEASON', WHY?

Winter is approaching! Winter is arguably one of the hardest times of the year for our skin. The harsh weather conditions makes for a dull, dry complexion. Despite winter not being a particularly skin-friendly season, it is one of the best times of the year to try non-invasive skin treatments due to the fact that a lack of sun exposure is beneficial to healing time.

Benefits of SPIDER VEIN CLEARANCE in winter:
Most people don’t think much about their veins in the winter when they are indoors and their legs are covered up beneath their layers of clothing. However, if you want to hit the beach this summer without feeling embarrassed about your spider veins, the approaching winter season is the best time for Laser Spider Vein Treatment!

  • You will need to wear compression stockings following treatment:
Following our Spider Vein Clearance treatment clients are required to bring compression stockings, to be worn after the treatment for up to 5 day. This will aid in reducing blood flow back to the dilated vessel, and increases the outcome of vessel elimination or dilation size. Hide those compression stockings under your clothing during the colder months and come out of winter Spider Vein Free!

  • You will need to avoid sun exposure:
Clientsshould use a high factor sunblock and protect the treated area from exposure to sunlight for at least one month following treatment. Tanning after treatment sessions may enhance melanin regeneration, which may resultin poor healing, hyperpigmentation, and possibly scarring.Avoiding the sun is a lot simpler in the winter! Having your laser vein treatment in the winter means that you won’t need to take extra precautions to avoid the sun.

  • Hide Potential Side Effects:
Having your spider vein treatment in the winter also means that you can wear clothing to hide any potential side effects. After laser spider vein treatment, you may experience mild bruising, redness, or swelling.

  • Spider Vein free for Spring:
When summertime comes, you’ll want to enjoy the sun and warm weather. This usually means throwing on shorts or a bathing suit to enjoy the rays. If you treat your spider veins in the winter, you could be free of the unsightly blood vessels by the time the weather warms up.

Benefits of ACNE SCARRING CLEARANCE in winter:
Tired of searching for ways to cover up acne scars? If so, CO2 Laser Resurfacing with our qualified skin specialists at Cosmedix Clinics is for you! Laser Resurfacing rejuvenates the skin, not only by eliminating old, damaged, and dull skin cells, but also by stimulating your skin’s natural production of collagen—both of which will have your skin looking fresh, vibrant, and remodelled.

  • Collagen Regeneration Takes Time:
There’s nothing like fresh, beautiful skin to have you at your best as warm weather gets closer. Scheduling a CO2 laser resurfacing treatment for your acne scarring during the winter helps ensure you greet spring with improved skin texture and tone.

Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing delivers impressive results by stimulating collagen renewal and elastin production for improved skin tone and structure. Our Skin Specialists deliver rapid pulses of energy deep into your skin tissue. Although, you can expect to see a definite difference in your skin soon after treatment, collagen and elastin regeneration improves further over time. As your body continues to increase production of collagen-rich, healthy skin cells you’ll notice increasingly smoother, firmer, and more vibrant-looking skin for months to come.

  • Laser Resurfacing and Sun Exposure Do Not Mix:
You’re far less likely to spend too much time in the sun during the winter months. CO2 Laser skin resurfacing for acne scarring should not be performed on skin that’s tanned or darker than normal. Performing CO2 laser skin resurfacing on skin darker than its natural tone may increase your risk of adverse reactions to the laser.

Our Skin Specialists highly recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure following your CO2 laser resurfacing treatment. Avoiding the sun is optimal for healing and ultimately will provide you with better results. Therefore, laser resurfacing for acne scarring is preferred during winter months when the sun’s rays are less intense. Even in the winter, you will need to apply sunscreen regularly and liberally following your laser resurfacing treatment at Cosmedix Clinics.

  • Winter Weather Is Best for Healing:
There are many reasons that the colder months are the best time to get laser resurfacing—your comfort being one of them. Following your treatment, you will experience mild swelling for a few days as the skin heals. Your skin will also change in tone from a red to a pinkish hue before returning to its natural colouring. The full recovery can take up to a week, and you can expect some peeling and flaking of the old skin during this time. Winter provides the best time for recovery because it’s easier to stay indoors.

Benefits of FRECKLE & PIGMENTATION CLEARANCE in winter:
  • Less Sun Exposure:
After your Freckle/Pigmentation Clearance laser treatment your skin becomes 'sun sensitive' similar to the effect of 'sunburn' where you would normally make sure you stay out of the sun. Therefore, it is important to avoid sun exposure as it can affect the results of your treatment. The winter sun is less intense due to a lower UV radiation index and the effects of cloud cover and shorter hours of sunlight.

  • Avoid Hyperpigmentation:
Even a small amount of exposure when the UV rays is high which peaks in the summer months can cause PIH (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) a darkening of areas of pigmentation on the skin after laser treatments. This risk is greatly reduced during the winter months when the UV radiation index in much lower.

  • Skin is bare & ready for treatment:
It is always recommended to get freckle and pigmentation laser clearance treatment done when the skin is not tanned.

  • Less outdoor activities in Winter:
The major outcome of our freckle clearance laser treatment on the skin is that it causes new and healthier cells grow. The vulnerable new cell needs protection from harmful UV radiation to prevent any damage. It is much easier to accomplish this goal during wintertime when people are naturally inclined to stay inside and they often prefer to cover themselves.

If you are thinking about getting a tattoo removal service, here are some very useful tips you should use before getting it. I would like to share my experience as an ex-intern of the dermatology department at CHU Besançon (University Hospital in France), but also as a client of Cosmedix Clinic Parramatta.

Tattoos are no longer considered like permanent and irreversible body art pieces. It is now totally possible to get rid of unwanted body art designs without leaving any marks on the skin. The tattoo removal procedure is performed using laser technology. Basically, a high intense light beam breaks up the pigment colours under the skin

So many people don't know it but moles that seem unsightly and that are not potentially cancerous can be easily removed with some of today's latest technologies, far from the standard approach of using a surgical knife.

Moles come in many shapes and sizes anywhere on the body and while they are usually a form of birthmark or sun induced lesions they are usually harmless too. However, these spotted marks and raised lumps on the skin can throw off a person’s facial complexion or aesthetic look of their chest, neck & back.
