Winter is approaching! Winter is arguably one of the hardest times of the year for our skin. The harsh weather conditions makes for a dull, dry complexion. Despite winter not being a particularly skin-friendly season, it is one of the best times of the year to try non-invasive skin treatments due to the fact that a lack of sun exposure is beneficial to healing time.

Benefits of SPIDER VEIN CLEARANCE in winter:
Most people don’t think much about their veins in the winter when they are indoors and their legs are covered up beneath their layers of clothing. However, if you want to hit the beach this summer without feeling embarrassed about your spider veins, the approaching winter season is the best time for Laser Spider Vein Treatment!

  • You will need to wear compression stockings following treatment:
Following our Spider Vein Clearance treatment clients are required to bring compression stockings, to be worn after the treatment for up to 5 day. This will aid in reducing blood flow back to the dilated vessel, and increases the outcome of vessel elimination or dilation size. Hide those compression stockings under your clothing during the colder months and come out of winter Spider Vein Free!

  • You will need to avoid sun exposure:
Clientsshould use a high factor sunblock and protect the treated area from exposure to sunlight for at least one month following treatment. Tanning after treatment sessions may enhance melanin regeneration, which may resultin poor healing, hyperpigmentation, and possibly scarring.Avoiding the sun is a lot simpler in the winter! Having your laser vein treatment in the winter means that you won’t need to take extra precautions to avoid the sun.

  • Hide Potential Side Effects:
Having your spider vein treatment in the winter also means that you can wear clothing to hide any potential side effects. After laser spider vein treatment, you may experience mild bruising, redness, or swelling.

  • Spider Vein free for Spring:
When summertime comes, you’ll want to enjoy the sun and warm weather. This usually means throwing on shorts or a bathing suit to enjoy the rays. If you treat your spider veins in the winter, you could be free of the unsightly blood vessels by the time the weather warms up.

Benefits of ACNE SCARRING CLEARANCE in winter:
Tired of searching for ways to cover up acne scars? If so, CO2 Laser Resurfacing with our qualified skin specialists at Cosmedix Clinics is for you! Laser Resurfacing rejuvenates the skin, not only by eliminating old, damaged, and dull skin cells, but also by stimulating your skin’s natural production of collagen—both of which will have your skin looking fresh, vibrant, and remodelled.

  • Collagen Regeneration Takes Time:
There’s nothing like fresh, beautiful skin to have you at your best as warm weather gets closer. Scheduling a CO2 laser resurfacing treatment for your acne scarring during the winter helps ensure you greet spring with improved skin texture and tone.

Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing delivers impressive results by stimulating collagen renewal and elastin production for improved skin tone and structure. Our Skin Specialists deliver rapid pulses of energy deep into your skin tissue. Although, you can expect to see a definite difference in your skin soon after treatment, collagen and elastin regeneration improves further over time. As your body continues to increase production of collagen-rich, healthy skin cells you’ll notice increasingly smoother, firmer, and more vibrant-looking skin for months to come.

  • Laser Resurfacing and Sun Exposure Do Not Mix:
You’re far less likely to spend too much time in the sun during the winter months. CO2 Laser skin resurfacing for acne scarring should not be performed on skin that’s tanned or darker than normal. Performing CO2 laser skin resurfacing on skin darker than its natural tone may increase your risk of adverse reactions to the laser.

Our Skin Specialists highly recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure following your CO2 laser resurfacing treatment. Avoiding the sun is optimal for healing and ultimately will provide you with better results. Therefore, laser resurfacing for acne scarring is preferred during winter months when the sun’s rays are less intense. Even in the winter, you will need to apply sunscreen regularly and liberally following your laser resurfacing treatment at Cosmedix Clinics.

  • Winter Weather Is Best for Healing:
There are many reasons that the colder months are the best time to get laser resurfacing—your comfort being one of them. Following your treatment, you will experience mild swelling for a few days as the skin heals. Your skin will also change in tone from a red to a pinkish hue before returning to its natural colouring. The full recovery can take up to a week, and you can expect some peeling and flaking of the old skin during this time. Winter provides the best time for recovery because it’s easier to stay indoors.

Benefits of FRECKLE & PIGMENTATION CLEARANCE in winter:
  • Less Sun Exposure:
After your Freckle/Pigmentation Clearance laser treatment your skin becomes 'sun sensitive' similar to the effect of 'sunburn' where you would normally make sure you stay out of the sun. Therefore, it is important to avoid sun exposure as it can affect the results of your treatment. The winter sun is less intense due to a lower UV radiation index and the effects of cloud cover and shorter hours of sunlight.

  • Avoid Hyperpigmentation:
Even a small amount of exposure when the UV rays is high which peaks in the summer months can cause PIH (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) a darkening of areas of pigmentation on the skin after laser treatments. This risk is greatly reduced during the winter months when the UV radiation index in much lower.

  • Skin is bare & ready for treatment:
It is always recommended to get freckle and pigmentation laser clearance treatment done when the skin is not tanned.

  • Less outdoor activities in Winter:
The major outcome of our freckle clearance laser treatment on the skin is that it causes new and healthier cells grow. The vulnerable new cell needs protection from harmful UV radiation to prevent any damage. It is much easier to accomplish this goal during wintertime when people are naturally inclined to stay inside and they often prefer to cover themselves.
